EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that offers a lot of personalization. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It offers class-leading range, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery systems.

EV Star

GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-green power electric mobility scooter medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate a variety of body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a simple sheet of paper, which allows for optimal placement of the battery and Power electric Scooter a lower center of gravity. This results in better range/payload ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 with a single wall structure inside and higher insulation than conventional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to reach the range of zero-emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will allow fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.

We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it to be a breeze to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth on ruts and bumps, while the EV9 is a master of suppressing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The car's acceleration is surprisingly fast, and it comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that permit "one-pedal driving" simply by taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged in just three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. Drivers can select between two modes of operation including eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode is a preference for the cruise control and torque and the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and provide an unique experience for anyone that has not driven an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower offers several other eVehicles, including a multipurpose all-electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, transit or electric power scooters microtransit vanpools, green power scooters buses, or paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means they'll be eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Check back as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year.
