For evening classes final exams are scheduled at the regular class meeting time during the final week of the exam.

Registration

The exam schedule is available on the internet, and students are advised to look it up. It is important to remember that the schedule for exams may change at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors for the correct date and time of their exam. Students should also print the official list to take to their exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, conditions and terms. These are accessible on the individual exam pages. After registering, students acknowledge that they agree to these terms and conditions.

Exam sites try their best to accommodate participants who have special requirements. The nature and the extent of these requirements should be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. Additionally the locations for the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If students are scheduled to take three exams on the same day, they must contact their instructor or department to schedule a retake test. It is possible to take three examinations on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and can affect the quality. Additionally, the instructor might not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.

Before taking the exam students must prepare by reviewing their study material and practicing their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test which measures the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The test results are presented using a scale ranging from zasady egzaminu a1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the attainment of the language level kategoria a1. This level is the first stage of the six-level scale of competence outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free of charge. Students should bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. Those who do not have an ID with a valid photo will be disqualified from taking the exam.

Fees

If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you must pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the course fees.

Practice tests let you get familiar with the format of the test, kategoria A1 the language, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They can help you evaluate your knowledge, spot gaps and improve your chances of passing the exam.

It is important to note that the exam fee isn't refundable. Exam results can only by electronically sent, not via phone.
