World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

The upgrade of items allows players to raise the item level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This boosts the power of the equipment, and also sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.

Cost

If a player wants to upgrade an item, they have to pay Gold for the upgrade. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level and the upgrade type selected. Upgrades to weapons are usually cheaper than upgrades for armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required increases when the item is upgraded to an upper level.

An upgraded item will also have improved stats, which can boost its performance in various ways. This could mean increasing its attack power and critical strike chance or damage per second. An upgraded item may also add additional benefits to the weapon it is equipped with. These upgrades can be used for a variety of reasons such as to increase the overall power of an individual or group unit. They can also have a major impact on gameplay.

Items can be upgraded at any NPC who is an upgrader in the game. Generally NPCs can be found in capital cities or major questing locations. You can also find upgraders of items by visiting dungeons that have high-level bosses and talking to NPCs in garrisons of your faction.

The World of Warcraft item upgrader kit upgrade system lets players improve the quality of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is similar to reforging process used in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However, instead of using currency, players have to visit an upgrader for their item to complete the process.

Rewards

During the upgrade process the item will gradually grow closer to the next level, but won't always reach a fully upgraded bar. This process makes use of Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of obtaining a fully upgraded item within just one cycle. The more levels an item receives, the higher its stat boost and the more items it is able to upgrade to.

Upgrade components can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to give an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier as well as its quality.
