What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds an additional widget at the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. This Manager is a cost of 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no other benefit to the game, aside from making it easier to buy upgrades.

Costs

There are a few costs associated with item upgrades. The first is the upgrade itself. This price is contingent on the item's new ilvl and the number of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.

The second is the cost of items needed to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. The amount of these items required is available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

Upgrades to an item are an intricate process that requires time. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the size of an upgrade. The stats that are the base of the upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl as well as other characteristics. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other vital statistics. In some instances, an upgrade can grant additional perks. These perks are available on a list.

Rarely, the advantages obtained will cost more than one perk slot In these cases the upgrade will replace the most expensive perks.
