It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt as well as pet hair and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base has a few control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot cleaner or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum with mop thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
