It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-filling.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40
