World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for item Upgrades upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item upgrader. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following an update.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item upgrader kit. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your equipment. Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can use up lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is very valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost that are listed above.
