The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its price is surprisingly low and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Make sure to check your robot vacuums with mop's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and can be used while you are at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units this mop and robot vacuum with mop vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot vacuums with mop that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work or at night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum uk vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might expect from its price tag. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
