It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into tight corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum to mop, you will need to be aware of this.

The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has a few control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you free it. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue except for the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot cleaner with mop thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
